We are back for 2011! The original crew is coming together again to bring you an amazing opportunity to construct your own ride! Mr. Holloway and myself (Mr. Lavigne) are going to be your material engineers, Mr. Goodall-Heising is our blog-master , Andrew McQuaid (Greenstreets Longboards, www.greenstreetlongboards.com) will be bringing his design knowledge and energy! The new member to our crew this year is Mr. Lange. He is bringing his art talents to help us cover our rides with self-expression!
Just like last year this course is designed to bring together people with a common interest in exploring the design, product and lifestyle of longboarding in a hands-on workshop. Participants will design and handcraft a longboard around the goal of replacing as many environmentally harmful materials as possible, with functional, ecologically based alternatives using wood from local New England forest. We have tricked out the course for this year with some new additions. First, and this is HUGE, we will be using Surf-Rodz trucks, bushings and bearings on all of our boards. Second, everyone will have a chance to design their own silk screen graphic for their board. Things that are NOT changing: everyone will receive a helmet from the "Helmet-in-Hands" program, a years subscription to Concrete Wave and the famous schwag box with stickers and original course t-shirt.
